Terrariums are an excellent way to add greenery to your home or office space.
1. Choose Your Terrarium Vessel
To create one, you can start with simple, single-plant terrarium kits that include one plant per terrarium.
2. Layer the Bottom of the Jar
One popular approach is to use succulents, as they are low-maintenance and need only minimal watering.
3. Add the Charcoal Powder (If Using)
Additionally, you can be experimental with your design and create interesting terrarium displays. Ideas include arranging attractive rocks, bark, or seashells amidst the plants, or creating a miniature world using small animals or figurines.
4. Add the Potting Compost
Moss can be added to the soil between the plants to create a velvety groundcover for the terrarium.
5. Start Planting Out the Terrarium
6. Add More Moss
7. Clean Up
Using the soft paintbrush, clean up the inside of the jar and brush any bits of potting compost from the leaves and flowers to tidy them up.
‘Finish by giving the plants some water to help prevent transplant shock, bearing in mind that the container doesn’t have any drainage holes.’
