The stadium in Russia initially did not meet the FIFA standards required for hosting the World Cup. In order to ensure compliance, the stadium authorities decided to add approximately 8,000 seats. By doing so, they were able to meet the minimum seating capacity of 35,000 spectators as mandated by FIFA.
